page last updated: April 13, 2010 April 2010 meeting notesA motion was made and accepted to have the Treasurer's report reviewed by
a general member (non-officer) of the club on a monthly basis.
Dan Barry stepped up and accepted this responsibility. Dan is an
insurance salesman and is very good with figures. His role will be to
insure that the treasures report is correct and up to date. The officers and attending members agreed to continue the annual donations to the clubs that maintain the trails we ride. This year it looks like funds will go to West Rome Riders, Penn Mountain, Southern Tug Hill and Trackside Blazers. The date for our annual BBQ at the Rondout Valley Resort has been set for 9/11/10. We will start at 1pm and introduce the newly elected officers at this MEETING. BYOB and a dish to share. There is a Wilton Maine trip offered to us and hosted by theLong Island Sno Seekers for the next season's Presidents day weekend (2011) A Maine trail permit (get info HERE) will be required. Interested parties should be present at the NEXT club MEETING which is the 9/11 BBQ for more information. It was also discussed and agreed that a Facebook page should be created to help generate interest in our club and our sport. This FREE page will allow us to cut some of the maintenance expense of our website, http://www.tawaeri.com, which still exists and hopefully, draw more members.. If you are already on Facebook, you can search for Tawaeri Trailblazer Snowmobile club to view the page (or click the link above). If you are not on facebook yet, check it out! A reminder went out to all attendees regarding the state proposal to redirect $1 million dollars from the trail fund each year for the next 5 years-yep that's $5 million dollars! We are urging all members to visit the NYSSA website, download the letters, fill in the blanks, print it out in word or pdf format and let your voice be heard! Important note regarding the Beeches trip, Feb 26-28:As of now, all trails are open in Onieda County and snow is forecast every day the rest of the week, so hopefully we will have excellent conditions for this weekend. Accuweather has predicted 10"-22" by Friday for Rome with the bulk of it on Thursday. Hope to see everyone there! Beeches, Rome, NY Feb 26-28 This is the last group trip of the season. We have always had a great time at Beeches,don't miss it! IMPORTANT REMINDERS: Nominations for club officers will be accepted at the MARCH 1st club meeting, 7:30pm at the Tilson American Legion Hall. October 2009 NewsletterThe season has begun! Our first meeting was held Oct 9th. Apologies if you missed the email reminder, the new assistant secretary dropped the ball on that one! Reminders: Arctic Adventures open house weekend begins Oct 24th. Rider Safety Classes are going to be: Nov 14th at the West Hurley Fire house Club Dues are DUE NOW!! If you haven't registered your sleds, PLEASE do so BEFORE December so that the clubs can benefit from the funds before the season begins. Registration funds received after December do not reach the clubs until APRIL-way after they need that money for gas in the groomers! Tug Hill trip is planned for Jan 29-31 The cost of the VAST pass has been slightly reduced for those interested in riding Vermont. Non resident passes this year $110.00 if you get it BEFORE December 15th-after that it goes up to $145.00 The Christmas Dinner planning is in the works and we will keep you updated to location and date as soon as possible. To: Persons interested in Minnewaska State Park Preserve A public hearing for the Minnewaska State Park Preserve master plan will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 7:00 pm in the Lecture Center, Room 100 at SUNY New Paltz, New Paltz, NY.
